Fresh cod roe caught in the north east Atlantic and landed in Peterhead fish market. This product is seasonal between January - March. 


  1. 500 g cod roe
  2. 1/2 red pepper, finely diced
  3. 1 onion, finely diced
  4. 2 garlic cloves, finely diced
  5. 1 couple sprigs of parsley, chopped finely
  6. 100 ml olive oil
  7. 1-4 tbsp white wine vinegar, depending how strong you prefer it
  8. to taste Salt
  9. Potatoes, peeled


  1. Boil the cod roe in salted water for 30 minutes. Allow to drain when cooked through.

  2. Boil the potatoes separately in another pot of salted water until cooked and then allow to drain.

  3. Slice the cod roe and place on a platter.

  4. Sprinkle with the peppers, onions, garlic and parsley. Then drizzle with the olive oil and vinegar. Season with salt.

  5. Serve along side the boiled potatoes and salad of choice.
